Lorde's new video 'Tennis Court' shows the sensational 16-year-old singer in a whole new light.
Gone is the no-makeup, wild curly hair look: here she sports perfectly pale complexion, white eyeliner and drop-dead purple lips.
We can tell you that in the clip, her fishnet 'Sport Mini' jumper is by Zambesi, her bra is by Julian Danger, her cocktail ring is by Meadowlark and Lauren Gunn (Creative Director for Stephen Marr) did her hair. And we went right to the source for her makeup - M.A.C artist Sharon Ngen gives us the low-down on what she applied, and how she applied it.
Sharon had quite a clear brief - clean, strong and bold, with nude eyes and dark purple, almost aubergine lips - so it was all about her interpretation and application.
GET THE LOOK
Step One - Prep: Sharon worked extensively on Lorde's skin before beginning her make-up to ensure it was in the very best possible condition - think primer, eye cream, lip conditioner and fixing spray.
Invest: M.A.C Prep + Prime Moisture Infusion, $99
Save: Maybelline New York Dream Smooth Primer, RRP$19.99
Step Two - Base: As this was professional makeup for filming, Sharon worked equally extensively on Lorde's makeup base, using six different products and three different brushes. She says that M.A.C. Prep + Prime Highlighter in Radiant Rose really helped to brighten and highlight Lorde's skin. She highlighted the singer's cheekbones, the bridge of her nose, her chin, and the cupid's bow of her lips with it.
Another key part of the base was Sharon's use of concealer in the inner and outer corner of the eyes for a brightening effect. "People put concealer under their eyes on dark circles, but they forget the corners," Sharon told us.

Save: Rimmel Match Perfection Illuminator, $16.50
Step Three - Brows: Sharon groomed Lorde's brows by brushing them gently in the direction that they grow. She filled in some fine gaps with eyebrow pencil, and finished with a cult M.A.C product - Clear Brow Set.
Invest: M.A.C Clear Brow Set, $36
Save: Use a little hair gel or petroleum jelly to set your brows if you don't have a brow-specific product.
Step Four - Eyes: This was the most nude eye Sharon has ever done (and she whispered to us that Lorde wore black contact lenses). The colour she used over Lorde's eyelids is 'Soft Ochre' (yellow beige) Pro Longwear Paint Pot, with a muted beige-taupe eyeshadow in the crease for a 'soft, blown out/contoured effect.'
She lightly ran the same colour along the bottom lashline to create a gently shadowed effect. Key to the look, 'Fascinating' (intense matte white) Eye Kohl pencil was used on the waterline (that's the inner lower rim) of the eyes, visually extending the whites of the eyes so that Lorde appeared more wide-eyed.
Lastly, Sharon finished the lashes with mascara, aiming for beautifully defined lashes.

Save: Rimmel Soft Kohl Pencil 'Pure White', $10.50
Step Five - Lips: Sharon blocked out Lorde's natural lip colour with Pale Lip Erase. She then filled in her lips with 'Vino' (intense violet-purple) Lip Pencil for shade and depth. And here's the final trick for those show-stopping lips: Sharon mixed together Blue and Fuchsia Lipmix to create a dark purple/aubergine shade, and applied it with a lip brush for a defined lip look.
LipMix is a Pro-only product, but Sharon says that Stuff readers could use Mac Pro Lipstick in Smoked Purple to get a similar colour.
Invest: M.A.C Pro Lipstick 'Smoked Purple', $40
Save: Maybelline New York Colour Sensational Lipstick 'Mauve-ulous', $20.99
Step Six - Nails: Sharon used Vintage Vamp, a 'rich, deep retro wine' for Lorde's nails. To ensure the best possible finish with a classic nail varnish you are still best to apply a base coat, then two thin coats of nail colour, and finish with a top coat.
Invest: M.A.C Nail Lacquer 'Vintage Vamp', $26
Save: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in 'Wine Not', $16.99
'Because I'm doing this for the thrill of it, killing it
Never not chasing the million things I want
And I am only as young as the minute is full of it
Getting pumped up on the little bright things I bought
But I know they'll never own me (Yeah)'
