New Zealand actor Tim Balme is still remembered by many for being smouldering bad boy Greg Feeney on Shortland Street in the mid-1990s. He's played many roles since then, but is soon to return to TV One as Jules in Nothing Trivial.
WHAT'S IN YOUR BATHROOM CUPBOARD?
Probably more products than any self-respecting man should have, but a perk of this job is that make-up artists are often sending you home with the new 'this' and 'that' to try out. It accumulates.
WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU CARRY AROUND?
Tui Lip Balm(e). I found this product years ago. I was attracted by the name of course (the unique spelling of Balme with an 'E' made me me feel at home) and its nice to have my name associated with a cruelty-free product that is 100 per cent local and does what it promises. Ironically, Tui have recently dropped the 'E' from their branding as it was causing confusion overseas. No confusion from me - still a great range of products!
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCTS?
Dermalogica. It's what most of our make-up artists use on shows like Nothing Trivial and The Almighty Johnsons to clean and protect our 'man' skin. Their After Shave Balm blows all others out of the water.
HOW DO YOU TREAT YOURSELF?
I go surfing. Apart from having fun, keeping fit, the fresh air and the ocean zen - I get a free salt water and sand exfoliation when I wipe out - which is often.
WHAT'S THE ONE PRODUCT YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT?
My Remington MB4110. This is a shaver/clipper mean machine. I don't think I've played a clean shaven character since Mercy Peak in 2003 so maintaining various lengths of facial hair can be a science (and tedious). This unit is so cool you can power it up via USB off your laptop (which I guess is handy if you are stuck in the bush with no power but a fully charged personal computer).
