This time of year, when it's all about meeting deadlines and catching up with the people you haven't had a chance to see, can wreak havoc with your looks. Here's how to look your best in the silly season.

FLUTTER AND FLAUNT:Have the flirtiest lashes at the party with false lashes. These easy-to-apply lashes can be cut down to size and worn over and over again. M.A.C False Lashes, $26.

INSTANT REFRESH: Pump some skin-loving antioxidants back into your tired face with Dermalogica's Antioxidant Mist. It's a toner that you can apply under makeup, or throughout the day to refresh your makeup and instantly hydrate the skin. It also comes in a purse-friendly 30ml bottle, $24.

A RED CHRISTMAS: What's Christmas without a touch of red? If you're racing straight from work to a Christmas event, a slick of red lippy is the fastest and easiest way to look like you've got your party face on. Napoleon Perdis Divine Goddess Lipstick in Aphrodite, $42 from Farmers.

NAIL THE LOOK:A quick manicure makes for an easy pampering, and it's something you can do in your coffee break. Smooth off rough edges with a nail file or buffer and polish your nails with a glamorous coating of fabulous festive gold. Dior Rouge Duo Vernis in Crocodile, $64.

GOLDEN GLOW: Get that sun-kissed look (even though you've been stuck in the office all day) by sweeping bronzer across the high points of the face, along the shoulders, down the arms and over the décolletage. Dab a bit of blush on the apples of the cheeks for a healthy glow. Napoleon Perdis Bronze and Blush Patrol, $67 from Farmers.

HEAVEN SCENT: Want to smell as good as you look? Snap up the limited edition red glitter bottle of the classic Clarins Eau Dynamisante. It's an aromatic citrus scent with lemon, mandarin, orange, lavender, coriander, ginger, patchouli, white thyme, white tea, rosemary and petit grain. And not only does it smell great, it moisturises and nourishes the skin as well. $81 for 100ml.

FIX IT: A mini can of hairspray is a handy addition to your bag. L'Oréal Professionnel has collaborated with acclaimed French hair stylist and costume designer Charlie Le Mindu to produce this Mademoiselle Infinium Lumiere spray. It comes in a teeny can, specially designed for on-the-go touch-ups. $23.

LIP LOVE: Too much kissing under the mistletoe? Nourish dry and sore lips with MOR's Lip Macarons. Not only do they make your lips feel great, they make for very cute prezzies. They're $14.95 each, in nine delicious different flavours.

IT'S IN YOUR HANDS: Keep your hands in tip top shape with regular applications of a hydrating hand cream. The Body Shop's limited edition Cranberry Joy Hand Cream smells like Christmas, and is the right size for your handbag, $12.

Shiny skin makes for some pretty awful festive photos, so make sure you're ready for your close-up by having powder on hand. Sweep powder through your T-zones for picture perfect photos. Estee Lauder Nutritious Mineral Loose Powder Makeup, $76.
