Lash serums claim to boost the length and volume of eyelashes through the proteins, vitamins and moisturising agents they contain, which are supposed to strengthen the hair follicles and hydrate the lashes (the poor wee strands of hair get quite a workout, what with most of us vigorously rubbing our eyes so often).

But are these wands actually magic?
