Now that it's winter, I'm spending less and less time in the garden, but it's still consuming my thoughts. I don't get a chance to do anything in the morning more than feed and clothe myself and the trusty assistant, and rush out to the chooks with a bowl of food for them. Then I get home in the dark, so I don't actually lay eyes on my plants and vegetable patch till the weekend. And then it's all on.
Here's what's on my list at the moment:
- Shred leaves for mulch and compost bin
- Mound up leeks
- Turn compost
- Start a new bin of seaweed tea
- Weed Shirley's garden
- Get more horse poo and seaweed
- Build another berry bed, this time for strawberries
- Sow green manure crop in new space in Shirley's garden
- Pot rengarenga seedlings
- Deal to dock
- Plant bulbs in this garden
- Feed vegetables with seaweed tea
- Put new bedding in worm farm, and
- Start hardening off lettuce and spinach seedings
Here's what I acutally got done this weekend:
- Mound up leeks
Hopeless, huh?

I have managed to tidy up my potting shed though, so that's an achievement!

I never find enough time over the weekends. I use a torch during the week. Otherwise nothing would ever get done around my place!
thanks for the list!
Currently mainly reading gardening books inside :-)
Did get new beds sorted out over the long weekend, though, mainly thanks to kind husband who did the hard digging bits, and planted garlic, and peas and radish seeds. Have some seeds inside - have learnt a lesson about seeds. Did several different sorts in the same tray. Some are now nearly too tall for tray lid while others are yet to emerge... clearly if you mix seeds they should germinate around the same time! Ah well, live and learn.

Wow thats quite a list!! We took advantage of the great morning that was sunday and removed our old and very tired- looking herbs. Felt very productive as we did a big weed and laid some mulch down too. My biggest thing on my to-do list is build a veggie batch- but we need the chook house to move first as its in the way! Hoping to do that soon so I can get it ready before spring :) I harvested some tomatoes in the weekend as well- we have a few plants in our conservatory which are doing really well!
