VeryFirstTo, working in collaboration with Tresor Paris, unveiled their diamond-filled Christmas crackers in London. They cost GBP1 million (NZ$2.24 million).

Most of us are used to finding a joke, a paper hat and a plastic toy inside our Christmas crackers. They're the kind which are really more about the bang than the bang for your buck.

But Christmas isn't called the silly season for nothing.

VeryFirstTo.com has joined forces with Parisian jeweller Tresor Paris to create a luxury set of crackers which cost more than a house.

Recipients of these Christmas crackers can rest easy in the knowledge they'll get a diamond on the day.

Time to make nice with your Christmas dinner hosts, people.
