The Commonwealth Games are officially open and the ceremony was, of course, a fire work fueled, multi-coloured, synchronised-dancing riddled explosion of Scottish culture.

But really, all you need to know about it is this: each country was loaned a Scottish Terrier in a little tartan vest with the name of the country on it.
