Furry Friday: The closest of cat cuddles
All that focusing, all that posing - Pebble just couldn't keep his little eyes open.
To a cat, your human shoulders are a platform, your arms a hammock, and your head a furnace (albeit one that makes funny noises out its front). Your upper body is a most desirable zone, altogether. Hence why a cat loves to get its own face up in close contact with yours.
It's also nice for you, of course. A soft, clean cat makes a splendid living hat, scarf or collar, at least so long as the cat permits you to continue breathing comfortably, and at least while claws remain sheathed.
Here's a collection of cats up close to their human assistants: perched on shoulders, wrapped around heads or tucked under chins. Scroll and enjoy. (As usual, I mostly name just the pets - no offence to the mums and dads, it's just that pets come first on Four Legs Good!)

Cats on top: Ollie (left) and Anzac and Sargent let their dads know who the mattress is in this relationship.
Juno clinches with mum; Rosco head-butts his granddad.

Tucked under the chin like snoring violins: Oscar (left) and Franklin.
Highly huggable: Juno (left) and Diesel (also known as Scarf Cat due to her neck-wrapping habit).
Ninja creeps up close. That is one fiery ginger - bet Ninja gives off a lot of heat.
World-conquering cats: Watch out for the cunning plans of Lady Corsette (left) and Meer.
Born for the shoulder: Roger (left) and Polly.
Freeloader (left) and Doyle make their mums smile.
Here's Jupiter with Josh, along with Josh's cool watch. Meanwhile, Bonnie snuggles prettily; sadly she went missing last year.
This is what happens when you go to visit your ex-flatmate and your ex-flatmate's cats have to show how much they miss you. Benji and Terry are all over Aravind.
Lord Viking (left) and Princess Wanda are frequent stars of Furry Friday, due to their stunning Maine Coon looks and the superb photos taken by dad.
'Give me the favourable lighting,' says Butters (left). 'You should smile more often, it tastes nice,' says Trixie.
Shoulder padders: Hobbes (left) and Rosie.
Finally, a portrait of Astro and Grant as a strange beast - Astrant? Grastro? Not really a cuddle, more like something that might end with a claw.
