Some unlikely heroes are capturing people's hearts after the horrible tragedy at the Grenfell Tower in London.

Specialist dogs are being used by the London Fire Brigade as they inspect the building and search for bodies following the deadly fire that's believed to have claimed 58 lives. The 24-storey tower, which once housed up to 600 people in 120 apartments, is now a charred ruin.

Small and agile, with a keen sense of smell, the dogs are able to get into the more challenging areas, such as the heavily damaged upper floors, reports The Mirror.

Like their human companions, the dogs are given special equipment for the job - including little boots to protect their feet from heat and broken glass.

It's a dangerous job, and they've clearly won plenty of fans on social media for their bravery - and their boots.
