Pet of the day: Beau, the suitcase stowaway
My name is Beau. I am a four year old Bichon Fris (with maybe a little touch of Shitzu).
My first mum got me when I was very young before she went on holiday to Australia and decided not to come home again. My Nana looked after me for a while but I don't think she quite knew what to do with me, or how quite much I needed grooming. When I was about 18-months-old I was put up for adoption and found by my new family.
I have an 8-year-old sister called Georgia. She is a Poochin (a cross between a poodle and a Japanese Chin) and she loves to play at being mother. My best mate Jack is a 3-year-old Bichon/Poodle cross. We just love to get together and chase each other, barking and playing.
Lots of people walk past our house and we love to go out and bark at them as they walk by. Every few months the three of us go for a ride in the car for a visit to the lady who cuts our hair.
My favourite person is my Dad and my most comfortable place is putting my backside on his neck and lying across the back of his reclining chair. From here I can look out at the world through the lounge window.
My mum has been sick for a long time so at night I like to cuddle up to her on our bed. And there is another human, my mum and dad's son Ryan. He likes to cook our food each night.
Earlier this year my Mum and Dad had to go away in the middle of the night. My Mum needed new lungs but she got very, very sick after getting them.
They were gone such a long time I thought they had forgotten me but sometimes Ryan would put the telephone on speaker and I could hear their voices. When they eventually came home my mum had to stay at Nana's while Dad cleaned the house.
This time they stayed home with me for a bit longer but when the suitcase came out again for their next trip away, I decided that this time I wasn't going to miss out, so I climbed in to be packed up with the clothes.
