Pelican's first-flight video feels so good
Learning to fly . . . spreading your wings . . . letting your spirit soar . . . birds give us our metaphors for realising potential.
Perhaps that's why this video, that looks right into the eyes of a pelican taking wing for the first time, feels so good.
The young pelican had washed up in Tanzania after a storm, without parents or the ability to fly.
The people who found him took care of him and taught him to fly, by running with him on the beach flapping their arms.
They attached a GoPro camera to his beak to capture the magic when he finally succeeds.
"Come on my boy you're going to fly ... spread your wings."
