Cindy Crawford, model turned entrepreneur, knows a few things about beauty and confidence.
Crawford started modelling at 16 and since then has appeared on the cover of most major magazines, including a topless Playboy cover shoot in 1998.
Age hasn't stopped her either: Crawford's most recent nude shoot was for W Magazine last year, and shows the 48-year-old supermodel still has the killer body that made her famous.
"The only things I've ever regretted were when my inner voice, or whatever you want to call it, told me one thing and I let other people talk over that," she told the Huffington Post.
However the seasoned supermodel says she regrets some of her naked photo shoots.
"I've done a lot of nude pictures that I haven't regretted," Crawford continued.
"The ones I have regretted were the ones I knew something didn't feel right about the situation and I did it anyway. Only you know what's right for you."
Over the course of her modelling career the supermodel has shot campaigns for labels including Versace, Revlon, Maybelline, Omega and Escada.
The model, who is famous for her trademark mole, was so successful in her early career she was named the highest-paid model in the world in 1995 by Forbes.
But she revealed to Vogue in May that she almost had her beauty spot removed, before some wise counselling from her mother stopped her.
Crawford said her sister encouraged her to have it removed: "Apparently, if it was on the right side it was a beauty mark, and if it was on the left it was an ugly mark."
"I would get teased by the other kids in school, so I definitely wanted to get it removed. But my mother always said, 'You know what your mole looks like, you don't know what the scar is going to look like,'" Crawford told Vogue.
The mother of two says it's not something that she notices any more, but she has realised her mole is something that set her apart.
"It's the thing that made people remember me, and it made a lot of women who also have beauty marks identify with me," Crawford said.
Two years off turning 50 the all-American beauty is as stunning as ever, and she has shared a few tricks about staying gorgeous.
"I'm a firm believer that nobody is perfect, and nobody gets it right all the time," Crawford wrote on her Facebook page.
"Instead I try to eat 80 per cent right, 80 per cent of the time. At least I try to stick to that!"
She also says beauty is all about how you feel.
"Beauty changes as I get older," Crawford told WWD.
"I've always found that beauty and confidence are synonymous. If you feel confident, that's what people see. I always tell people to fake it until they make it."
Genetics have obviously played a big role in her looks, and it's evident her two children have inherited their parents' beauty. Crawford is married to entrepreneur Rande Gerber.
Crawford caused an internet storm when she posted a picture on Instagram of her two children, Presley, 14, and Kaia, 12.
While Presley is uninterested in modelling, according to Crawford, Kaia made her modelling debut at the tender age of 10 for Versace.
The young girl, who is the spitting image of her famous mother, hasn't modelled since as Crawford thinks she is too young.
However, Crawford told US Weekly that while Kaia is a bit too young to begin a serious modelling career she is definitely interested, and she wants to help steer her daughter through the experience.
"I could help guide her and help her navigate," she told the magazine.
"I had a great experience and managed to avoid a lot of the pitfalls of the fashion business. So if she did want to do it, I could be her stage mum!"
