Best & worst dressed: Dior show

THE GOOD DRESS ... BUT ... : I quite like this dress on the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence, but it'd be more memorable if the silk top half was in a bold, bright colour - it would just add a little punch. Ultimately the dress is a moot point, however, as my eyes dart straight to the levels of bronzer J-Law's wearing on her face. Either she's just been on a ski holiday or she applied her terracotta blush in a dim room and didn't think about what it would look like in the daylight (we've all been there, frantically swiping at our cheeks to tone down the Magda). PS: We can safely assume Jennifer, and all of the actresses herewith, are wearing Dior to a Dior show. Their lucrative contracts would depend on it.

THE LOOK FROM THE SHOW I'D LOVE TO SEE ON JENNIFER: Nothing from the show screamed 'I was just made to be worn by J-Law!', but this bold blue dress was the best option overall. A) I love Jennifer Lawrence when she wears a bold, single colour (rather than a chintzy pattern) and B) She looks the most 'herself' and comfortable in sporty, sleek lines - nothing fussy, and this beautiful dress was one of the least overcooked of the day.

THE MESSY: Emma Watson has a born-with-it grace and I love her in even the most simple of outfits, but I'm not a fan of this Dior dress. It looks like she's snapped the one strap en route to the show and so the dress is all escaping at the back and gaping at the bust. Also, I've never been a fan of those tricky heels: they just look to be a hazard. PS: How hot are all those bodyguards?! Spot the Jason Statham lookalike on the left.

THE LOOK FROM THE SHOW I'D LOVE TO SEE EMMA IN: This was reasonably tricky, as overall the Fall Couture show was full of lots of extreme waistlines and weird pantsuits, but this slick look really matches Emma Watson's timeless personal style. She'd rock it.

THE SMOKING: Charlize is clearly a goddess (lizard?) and so looks amazing in this simple gold dress. Look at her in the seated shot: girl obviously does a lot of Marie Windsor DVDs. All this said, leathered-bear architect Peter Marino, clearly won the day by managing to incorporate zips and crochet cut outs into one pair of leather pants (and all while sitting next to the Crown Princess of Greece). PS: I still haven't got my head around Sean and Charlize.

THE LOOK FROM THE SHOW I'D LOVE TO SEE CHARLIZE IN: Because if anyone can pull off a sleeveless, statement-collar-on-steroids jacket it's the 177 cm tall South African.

THE GREAT: Marion Cotillard is the only celeb that manages to almost always look good in Dior's designs. Most people are swamped by the odd design details, or just look uncomfortable in the overload of pastel, but not this French siren. This simple tulip-skirt dress with a hint of patterned silk would look messy on many, but looks elegant and classic on Ms Cotillard.

THE LOOK FROM THE SHOW I'D LOVE TO SEE ON MARION: The French film star could do justice to this amazing jacket. I'd like to see her in it on a wide, open avenue in Paris. In Autumn. With colourful leaves slowly falling around her. Can someone make a perfume ad like this happen please? Carla Bruni can do the soundtrack.

THE GOOD: I detest the mini bag on principle, but Zhang Ziyi looks like a vintage Dior ad in the very best of ways here (but then those reflective, Persol-like sunnies shoot her right back to this millennium).

THE LOOK FROM THE SHOW I'D LOVE TO SEE ON ZHANG: Unlike J-Law, Zhang can wear a delicate pattern like her life depends on it, and, as such, this simple, chic yet ever-so-slightly-edgy skirt-top combo would look amazing on her.

We look at the outfits worn by the stars for the Autumn/Winter 2014 Dior Couture showcase in Paris, and then pick fantasy looks from the new collection that we'd love to see them wearing one day soon.
