Scarlett Johansson is the face of Dolce and Gabbana's new make-up range - which was recently launched at Milan Fashion Week - and was delighted to be styled as MarilynMonroe for the advertising campaign.
The 24-year-old actress says Marilyn is the ultimate blonde "iconic".
In the pictures, Scarlett is seen reclining on a bed in a corset with blonde hair teased into curls and a slash of bright red lipstick.
She said: "It was the boy's idea, Domenico and Stefano. Marilyn Monroe is the ideal Dolce and Gabbana woman, the iconic blonde. It was fun to create.
"I'm kind of buxom. I love red lipstick and I love a good lip. I was working with Pat McGrath, the British make-up artist, and she was so funny. Everyone kept saying, 'Get Pat off the set. Scarlett's smiling too much.' "
Despite enjoying the chance to dress up, Scarlett admits her day-to-day style is far removed from the red carpet glamour most people associate with her.
She added to Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I love the androgynous look. I love trouser suits, those ones from Yves Saint Laurent, the three-piece, jacket and trousers with waistcoat. I also wear a lot of Rag and Bone. I look on style.com, see the shows. I pull vintage pieces, I shop for myself. I'd love to see a Dior couture show. I've never been to one."
