Is this the strangest trend to hit the red carpet this year?

Guests have been accessorising their glam dresses on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in France with dog-shaped handbags.

First a guest with a gold-coloured 'pooch' bag arrived for the screening of the animated film 'Up' by director Pete Docter on the opening.

A few days later French actress Fiona Gelin arrived for the screening of the film 'Vengeance' carrying a fluffy dog-shaped bag.

No, not me - this trend is way too infantile and NOT chic at all. And Alan - THIS woman doesnt wear 3/4 pants, or skirts (or dresses) over pants. Shame on Kiwi women for perpetuating these horrible and unflattering trends.

I totally would! Especially the adorable silver one...

Woman will follow the trend, how else could you explain 3/4 pants that look pants that have shrunk or skirts over the top of pants or jeans.

The bag in the top picture is pretty cute, but the bottom one just looks like a stuffed toy. As to whether I'd carry either: no.
