Jessica Simpson will show off her new fashion collection by styling her friends.
The Jessica Simpson Collection includes apparel and accessories, and is hugely popular. To mark New York Fashion Week, which starts on Thursday, Jessica is showcasing her newest range in the city later today.
The 30-year-old has endured a lot of criticism about her figure, including comments when she appears to have put on weight. Jessica is happy with her curves, and prides herself on coming up with pieces which everyday women can wear.
This is why she has decided to shun models for her collection's debut.
"I asked a lot of my best friends to be the models because I think they represent the woman who's going to the stores," she explained to USA Today. "My sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz definitely has her look picked out. She'll be a rock star."
Jessica took some time off over the summer to relax and concentrate on her relationship with American football star Eric Johnson. She is now raring to go however, and can't wait for people to see her new line.
"I feel really good. I have a routine going, which is nice," she said. "I'm sick of having time off, but now that I'm working really hard, I'll probably change my mind in a few weeks. I'm definitely a working girl, so I'm looking forward to getting back to the grind of it."
Jessica has a denim range, and is going to be touring the country to show off the newest pieces in it. Prices start at $49, and the star will be appearing at department stores across the US to help fans chose a pair to flatter their figure.
"I am so excited to share my new denim line with everyone," she told People magazine. "It is comfortable, affordable and trend-right. I am already wearing them and loving them!"
