Selena Gomez dazzled in gold on the red carpet at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto on Sunday night.

The 19-year-old actress-and-singer stood out in a short, sequined metallic dress with matching strappy sandals.

Gomez opted for a pair of gold hoop earrings and finished off the look with a slick of red lipstick.

With such an attention-grabbing look, she chose to wear her brunette hair in natural waves and didn't go overboard with her eye makeup.

The star later changed into a more casual white sheer blouse and denim shorts to perform a skit during the ceremony.

Katy Perry stuck to her current gothic style in a sexy black and gold ensemble featuring a full sheer skirt.

The singer channelled Wonder Woman in the gown, which featured a bodice with elaborate gold lace detailing and crocodile skin bust panels.

Perry went light on the accessories, with just one chunky gold bangle and a couple of rings, but had topped up her purple highlights for the occasion.

Nelly Furtado turned heads in a figure-hugging white mini dress, which featured ruffle detailing on the hip area to create an hourglass effect.

The singer teamed her frock with a pair of sexy black and gold snake sandals and an unusual wide orange wristband, which matched her manicure.

Carly Rae Jepsen - who was the big winner of the night - chose a shiny black frock with pleated detailing for her moment in the limelight and added a funky bright necklace to the ensemble.

The Call Me Maybe singer opted for tousled waves and dramatic smoky eyes to finish off the look.
