Do you think skin-baring dresses are hot?

Yes, on the right people.

No, they are hideous.

Brrr, I feel cold just looking at them.

Once upon a time all you needed to do to get people talking was to flash an ankle or uncovered wrist.

Now it seems you need to take a leaf out of model Izabel Goulart's book and turn up wearing a dress that leaves so little to the imagination that you can't even wear your knickers underneath it.

Alternatively, you could mimic the Pretty Woman-inspired style of model Edita Vilkeviciute, who arrived at the same event as Goulart with half her torso on display in a very mini dress.

Of course, you don't have to go all the way with the cutout trend - when Prison Break actress Sarah Wayne Callies walked the red carpet at a recent premiere she wore a deep green dress with small side cutouts that exposed her waist - and a quick browse on any major shopping site brings up all manner of styles.

Most of them are aimed at the tween to teen age group. Very young models in tiny dresses with cutouts exposing their mid-sections, thighs, backs and chests gaze sensously at the camera on shopping sites like Asos, Wild Pair, Supre and Topshop.

This filter down effect from models and celebrities to young teenagers is a natural progression; we just hope that gowns like Goulart's don't end up at the local school ball.
