Whether their relationship is for real or just a marketing ploy, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's rumoured shoe collaboration could be a bona fide success, according to fashion industry experts.
The design-savvy duo - who both have fingers in their respective fashion pies - are reportedly planning to launch a footwear collection together.
Howard Bragman, vice chairman of Reputation.com and a long-time Hollywood publicist, said the rumoured range could be very successful for the high-profile couple.
"The potential is huge. They are both brand names that have separately sold millions of dollars' worth of product. Kim knows the shoe [industry] and it makes a lot of sense. This could be a case of one plus one equals three," he told to WWD.
"They need to decide who their customer is and make sure the price point is right."
Speculation surrounding the pair's new venture started last week when they were apparently spotted with PPR CEO François-Henri Pinault.
Kanye has previously worked on footwear collaborations with Giuseppe Zanotti and sports brand Nike, while Kim helped launch Shoedazzle.com.
The website's CEO Bill Straus has worked closely with Kim on the project and said she is a valuable asset to the company.
"Kim's amazing sense of fashion, Hollywood appeal and savvy head for business will surely lead to continued success in the design industry," he said.
