Remember back in July when Katie Holmes had just separated from Tom Cruise - like only days before -and she made sure her first public appearance was as a judge on Project Runway: All Stars?
Well it's no accident that she's probably looking to reignite her career as a fashion designer.
And not merely in a 'oh, why don't we throw a famous celebrity a bone' way either - Holmes, along with her fashion partner Jeanne Yang, her former stylist (and the Yang in the Holmes & Yang brand) has won the coveted position of the 'tents' in Lincoln centre - the place where proper grown-up designers show their collections.
"The tents are considered Fashion Week central, a spot where heavy hitters like Diane von Furstenberg, Monique Lhuillier and Badgley Mischka show. It's also where you'll find celebs ducking into VIP lounges between presentations, hordes of fashionistas snapping photos and major fashion editors sitting front row.
"This is a big deal for Katie to show in the tents, under the full attention of the fashion editors and the glare of media scrutiny," a source tells the New York Post.
"They could have done a small show elsewhere, so this proves she and Jeanne are very serious about their business."
Victoria Beckham is reportedly slated to show her collection on the same day - September 9 - but at a different time and at a different location, The New York Public library.
Which might be considered a bump down. Still, we hardly think Beckham would care - she already has Beyonce wearing her clothes while Holmes has ... herself?
Oh, fashion week's not for another fortnight and we just got bitchy! Look out!
Who was your best dressed of the week?
