Beyonce is having something of a moment. As if her Super Bowl danceathon wasn't enough, she's now on the cover of US Vogue's 'Power' issue.

Inside the mag she mixes it up, reclining in flamboyant gowns and striking power poses in designer knickers, while revealing her innermost thoughts.

Here's a sample:

On giving birth to her daughter: "I felt very maternal around eight months. And I thought I couldn't become any more until I saw the baby. . . . But it happened during my labour because I had a very strong connection with my child. I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn't think about my own pain. . . . We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication."

Hey, at least she knows it sounds crazy.

On her new family life: "I feel like I have something that has grounded me so much more. Family has always been important. I've always had my mother and my father and my husband. But it's just... Life is so much more than... It's not defined by any of this."

On splitting with her father as her business manager: "My soul has been tarnished... My father taught me so much about being a businesswoman. And I'm understanding him a lot now... A lot of the crazy things he did were necessary."

Her soul has been tarnished? By what? His infidelity? Because that would be the obvious thing to be tarnished by here. We're hoping that when she says 'a lot of the crazy things he did were necessary' she's talking about the promotion of Destiny's Child and not, you know, the affair that resulted in her half-brother.

And finally, her thoughts on Gwyneth: "When she is working onstage, she has more power than any woman I've ever seen. She would never say it and has never said it, but I feel she knows with every fibre of her being that she is the best in the world at her job."

We don't know how to come back from a quote like that, except to say that the idea of them being besties makes perfect sense now.

Herewith the behind-the-scenes video of the shoot. Is it just us or does Beyonce seem to have a behind-the-scenes video for everything? It's like there is a behind-the-scenes video for when she's literally behind-the-scenes.

We wouldn't be surprised to find out that there was a behind-the-scenes video to the birth of her child. Would you?
