In a controversial decision, Kristen Stewart has been crowned the world's best-dressed woman.

Glamour magazine awarded the Twilight star the honour, making it the second year in a row Kristen has won the title.

The brunette beauty pipped Emma Watson and Britain's Duchess of Cambridge to the post, with the Harry Potter star and the royal coming second and third respectively.

Also hot on Kristen's heels were The Help actress Emma Stone who came fourth and country pop star Taylor Swift who bagged fifth place.

According to the magazine, it was Kristen's "rock-chick" style that gave her the fashion edge over the other ladies.

The ethereal beauty may have divided critics with her outfit choices, but there is no denying the 23-year-old knows how to make her mark on the red carpet.

From the shy girl who hit premieres in sneakers, Kristen has undergone a noticeable style makeover and sported some high-fashion gems over the past couple of years.

Most recently she hit the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in a daring matching top and shorts combination by Osman.

Rather than hiding her slim physique, the star embraced her femininity and opted to bare her legs and don a sky-high pair of Christian Louboutin heels to finish off the look.

Other noticeable 2013 style choices have included her stunning Reem Acra dress at the Oscars and various Zuhair Murad creations while promoting the final Twilight movie.

Glamour summed up the reason why Kristen - who had an affair with married direct Rupert Sanders last year - had caught people's attention.

"Apparently, there's nothing quite like a scandal of global proportions to encourage a girl to up her fashion game," the magazine wrote on their website (there's also nothing quite like trivialising the break up of a marriage).

"Kristen Stewart's red carpet onslaught for Breaking Dawn: Part 2 has seen the actress break new barriers when it comes to her style - and we like what we see," they wrote on their website.
