Best & Worst Dressed Of The Week: May 24
THE GOOD: Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge wore a beautiful coat by NZ-born designer Emilia Wickstead over her baby bump while at the Royal Garden Party. And while formal hats tend to make me break out in anxiety rashes, this Jane Corbett number is event-appropriate. I'm loving that Kate's wearing so much colour, and I hope she keeps it up post-UK Spring.

THE GOOD: Michelle Rodriguez is so beautiful but often wears dresses that just don't work on the red carpet. This, however, is a win. Her athletic gimme-50 arms can work a one-shouldered look and the simple hair and makeup keeps it within her not-fussy aesthetic.

THE GOOD: We're all a bit sick of Dior's strapless gowns after Marion Cotillard and Jennifer Lawrence have contractually traipsed to every event possible in them, but Jessica Biel makes Raf Simons' 2013-style look refreshing again thanks to impeccable styling. Beautiful hair, a fresh colour combo of pink and orange and, well, let's be honest, an amazing bod', make this a smash hit.

THE GOOD: Cannes jury member Zhang Ziyi rocks a Giambattista Valli couture gown to a daytime photo call at Cannes. It's daring, different and interesting, but still oh-so pretty. I love how the yellow Louboutin's pick up the hints of lime green and yellow in the bottom of the leaf-detail skirt. I even love the purple mani in spite of myself (I have a general fear of long nails).

THE GOOD: Naya Rivera deserves an extra enthusiastic double five (so a high 10 then) for pulling off a bandeau top with a high-waisted skirt that has a giant fold right over her belly. I think this Donna Karan look works so well because... A) the fact the skirt's high waisted means the tiny bandeau doesn't look 'too much' - or rather too little. B) the sequins give it razzle. C) all those jazz hands and dance numbers have given Rivs abs of steel.

THE BEST: How does she make wearing a full-on evening gown look so effortless and kind of rock'n'roll? Heather Graham's Hangover III prem-trail was a success. To the left she's working a hard-to-pull-off neckline in a Herve L Leroux bright green gown. And then, to the right, she's a touch goth but still full-glam in Max Azria Atelier. Perfect hair and makeup top off both looks.

THE BAD: At first I was like, okay, this is a Maxim Hot 100 event, April Rose is one of Maxim's TV hosts so I can forgive the whole tablecloth wench thing. But then I saw the socks, the socks pushed me over the edge.
Best & Worst Dressed Of The Week: May 24
THE BAD: 54-year-old Marg Helgenberger's look detoriarates from top to toe. Lovely hair, meh dress with an awk tiered hemline, FISHNETS. It's those little toes trying to pop themselves out of the disproportionately large netting holes that get me.
Best & Worst Dressed Of The Week: May 24
THE BAD: Remember Teri Polo from Meet The Parents? Here she is doing her best tradesman-in-knock-off-Missoni impression. Also, belts should never look like bum bags (that's a fanny pack, Teri) at first glance.
Best & Worst Dressed Of The Week: May 24
THE BAD: This is a case of perfectly-good-outfit-ruined-by-shoes-that-look-alive. It looks like they're currently attacking Nicki Minaj's feet.
Best & Worst Dressed Of The Week: May 24
THE BAD: Okay, Lily Allen's outfit is bad, yes, as in the professor-at-Hogwarts-with-monastic-experience bad. But my main issue is the hair. It looks like she's wearing a pin-on, pharmacy bought bun. If she is, that's a fail, and if she's not, well that's even worse.
Best & Worst Dressed Of The Week: May 24
THE BAD: A) I once straightened my hair when I was really, really drunk, and this is what it looked like. B) Tara Reid needs to add about five inches to this dress. C) Can we make sure duct tape trails on dresses are never a 'thing'?

This week we have some extremely strange shoe decisions, Kate Middleton looking fresh and Heather Graham showing the younger starlets how to work sultry.

We haven't touched upon the major red carpet events at Cannes this week, as we're all over them here, here, here, here, here and here (phew - it's been a busy week!).
