Best & worst dressed: Amfar NY gala
THE GOOD: Three-quarters of Uma Thurman looks beyond amazing in this Atelier Versace gown - although I do have a problem with the levels of boob-squish (particularly when she's seated) mostly because it just doesn't look comfortable.
THE NOT QUITE: A) This Tom Ford gown's pretty fierce but I'm sick of this silhouette on Jennifer Lopez. B) I think the straight back hair's too harsh given the fact she's effectively wearing a sequinned-skivvy. C) I love how Andre Leon Talley is a Vogue-icon and once said this: "wearing clothes should be a personal narrative of emotion" - but basically now wears nothing but a giant black smock.
THE NOT QUITE: Gorgeous Grey's Anatomy star Nora Zehetner opted for a cold-shouldered Calvin Klein mini, which I can't help but think would have just looked better sans the arm slots that look like neoprene beer can holders.
THE ALMOST: I'm thinking this look's overall is a bit too 'old' for gorgeous Ireland Baldwin, 17. Maybe this Dsquared gown would work better with a relaxed down-do. And, has her makeup artist gone crazy with the M.A.C. Fix+ or was it just mighty hot in there?
THE GOOD (FROM THE SIDE): DJ and model Leigh Lezark's right half looks gorgeous in this Dsquared Pre Fall 2013 gown (I'm loving her 20s do) and I'd love to tell you how she looked from other angles, but I actually don't know, as she literally doesn't seem to have turned around. For all we know there could be a picture of Elmo emblazoned on this gown's front.
THE ALMOST: I love Carly Rae Jepsen's auburn waves here, and this gown by Carlie Wong (from Project Runway Canada) is very pretty, although I do think the see-through piece needed a full subtle lining rather than a mini dress underneath. The current arrangement breaks the lovely long silhouette in half.
THE GOOD: Brazilian model Izabel Goulart is most commonly seen in a super-slinky gown, so I'm loving this super-sleek Alberta Ferreti suit. Just sexy enough.
THE GOOD: Iman, 57, looks truly stunning in this orange-red archival Valentino gown. 57. I'm in awe.
GOOD DRESS, BAD HAIR: South African supermodel Candice Swanepoel (aka, the woman whose surname I have to google to check for spelling every time) opted for a Theyskens' Theory gown, in fact that's Oliver Theyskens himself sitting with her at dinner. The gown is elegant and the detailing is gorgeous, but her newly-dyed platinum blonde hair? It looks like straw.
