Kylie Minogue's skimpy stage outfits are "zero fun" to wear.

The Australian singer is known for her pert derrière and shows it off by wearing daring costumes during her shows.

While she may look fabulous in creations by the likes of Dolce & Gabbana and Jean Paul Gaultier, Kylie doesn't feel particularly comfortable.

"They look great and they do the job on-stage, but they're zero fun to wear," she admitted to The Cut.

"I know that they're projecting and doing what they need to do, but you can't breathe, you can't walk, and you've got to make it look like can do all of that, which means you can't do the other things you've got to do as well as you would like... So you've got to just juggle for the end result."

The star has been spending a lot of time in the US recently, recording with artists such as Timbaland and Pharrell Williams.

While the West Coast may have changed her everyday style, she'll always stick to elaborate show gowns.

"Now I own a baseball cap! And I've never worn trainers so much! I love it. I've never been so comfortable in my life. I've even been wearing track pants," she laughed.

"You don't want to go and see me wearing what I'd wear on the street [on stage]! It's got to be larger than life, and a little bit of a fantasy. I love doing that, but I also love taking it off."

The 45-year-old looks great for her age and now feels happy in her own skin.

While she's more aware of what looks good on her, Kylie would never stop experimenting with fashion.

"When you're younger, you're figuring out who you are and what suits you, so it's great to try everything. But don't stop trying when you're older!" she exclaimed.
