ASOS is selling chokers for men, and people hate it
We're very much of the point of view that people can present themselves pretty much however they want, but not everyone agrees.
UK mega-retailer ASOS is selling chokers to men, and much of the internet is struggling to cope.
You might think, "Surely this isn't a big deal and anyone with a neck can wear a choker." You'd be right, but if you ask the 14,000 Twitter users who liked this tweet, you might get a different answer:
ASOS have started selling men's chokers 😷 can already tell 2017 is gonna be a shite year pic.twitter.com/QrWiIfBLtT— aZ (@aaronlxd) January 2, 2017
A search for "men's choker" on ASOS yields 11 results, like this velvet one for $12.68, or this string version for the same price. A search for "women's choker" gets 703 hits, so it's clearly still predominantly a trend for the ladies.

That said, the main point here is that if you want to wear a choker, you can. Your gender isn't really all that relevant.
Someone needs to tell this guy:

Blessedly, some people have some along as the voice of reason. We'll take a reference to The OC any day of the week:
And this person makes a solid point. They're entirely optional:
Why is everyone gettin in a tizz over Asos selling men's chokers, no ones making you buy one— Rosie Butler (@Rosie_Butler_) January 8, 2017
Overall we'd advise you to opt into wearing a choker if you want to, and to get a real issue if you don't.
