In what is either a major season three Homeland spoiler-alert or a Photoshop blunder, actress Claire Danes appears to have had her right leg amputated at the knee in a Vogue U.S. spread.
The magazine's espionage-themed feature shoot stars Homeland leads Claire Danes, 34, and the lovely Damian Lewis, 42, and was shot by the needs-no-introduction Annie Leibovitz. But in it, Claire Danes' right leg seems to disappear below the knee.
Could her knee be bent, meaning her calf is hidden in the ruffles of silk?
Or has overzealous retouching to add curves to her backside led to a major Photoshop fail? More likely.
If it was the latter, it certainly wouldn't be the first retouching meltdown in magazine history. Remember, Demi Moore's missing right hip? In that instance, it was pretty much concluded that they'd in fact just pasted Demi's head onto Anja Rubik's body.
Then there was Kristen Stewart's contortionist-level leg and missing ass cheek. Oh, and Carrie Underwood's Addam's Family hand; Karlie Kloss' disappearing ribs (proving retouching isn't always about slimming down) and a Victoria's Secret model's Gumby legs.
PS: There must be a dozen people that approve a Vogue image before it's published, did none of them think - 'hold on, something's off...' (As in literally, her leg's been lopped off).
PPS: All this staring at Brody reminds us how excited we are about September 29. Why? Because that's when Carrie and Brody return (hopefully, for both of their sake, with all limbs in tact).
- Is Claire's leg covered up in silk or has it been digitally brushed away? What do you think?
