Stiletto, boot, pump, ballet flat, loafer - I'll come out and say it, the canvas sneaker is a wardrobe essential.

It sits somewhere between the loafer and the sandal/thong in terms of both seasonality and dressiness. One pair of neutral sneaks will add a dozen looks to your wardrobe.

Those of us who are already in the know will have fallen in love with canvas sneakers' ease, comfort, wash-ability and affordable price point, and will be building a wardrobe of them in different colours, and fabrications.

Then there's height - no, we're not talking high heeled sneaks, that's an article unto itself - but high tops versus the lower profile classic sneaker, etc.

Now is a great time to snap up your wardrobe's next top sneaker, either on sale, or at the beginning of the season when there's the broadest choice in store.
