Red carpet rewind: Jennifer Aniston
SEPTEMBER 2001: Brad Pitt and Jen An as glowing newlyweds (#never forget) - but can we just address... a) it appears to be nighttime and Brad's wearing ineffectual JT N-Sync days sunnies. B) his jacket reminds us that early noughties fashion was worse than we remembered. C) Jen needs better support here (and I don't mean emotionally).
DECEMBER 2001: Is that Ellen DeGeneres masquerading as our JenAn?
JULY 2002: It's safe to say that Brad let himself go into his third year of marriage (this look is still preferable, however, to his current haircut - which looks like 'The Rachel').
JANUARY 2003: Remember how Brad rocked a cane pretty much the whole of awards season in 2012? Well he learnt the little trick from his former wifey - obvious fashion issues of needing to wear a moon boot aside, this necklace-open-shirt, appearing to be carrying some knickers as a handbag situation is a rare super-fail from Jen An.
JANUARY 2004: This vintage Valentino gown, however, was a timeless triumph (although I could do without the diamante - but that's just a personal pref').
SEPTEMBER 2004: This was one of Braniston's final red carpet apperances - *tear* - and I also think it was their best. Brad finally figured out that he looks better with very little hair, and Jennifer Aniston looked at her not-trying-too-hard best in this Grecian-style Chanel gown (it's an art to look both achingly elegant and happily comfy at once).
OCTOBER 2005: Jen and Brad announced their split in January 2005, and so she went underground for most of that year - as you would if your divorce became some kind of opportunity for heartbroken women across the world to collectively grieve. But she dusted herself off and re-emerged later that year - and did it in style, wearing a gorgeous Chanel halter, and with Clive Owen on her arm. Team Aniston.
2005-2009: Then she went through a period of almost exclusively wearing LBDs much like this one...
FEBRUARY 2009: Oh, except for at formal events... This embellished Valentino gown is a lot like the Chanel beaded gown she wore when on Brad's arm - and it really shows how Jen-An is one of the few stars that sticks to her personal style (PS: I'd mentally and emotionally blocked out that she'd dated John Mayer - it's all coming flooding back).
2010-2011: JenAn took a rare dip into the brighter sections of the colour wheel in these years - and I think we can agree with varying results (the orange Vivienne Westwood to the left is a triumph - the heavily-bunched sarong-of-a-gown to the right? Not so much).
2012-2013: Meanwhile, the past year has been a mixed bag for old JenAn - the leather gladiator look is just bewildering - but she peaked just last Thursday in this deep plum Burberry dress at the We Are The Millers premiere. Jen-An at her strapless and simple elegance best. Perfection. (Although the fact she displayed evidence of being the owner of an actual stomach in it meant the pregnancy rumours went back into overdrive.)
