A makeup-free Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 26, wowed on the Balmain runway in Paris this week in her first catwalk strut in over a year.

The supermodel's au naturel look was achieved by make-up artist Tom Pecheux, who only applied a touch of concealer where needed to all of the models in the show, reported The Daily Mail.

Pecheaux said he focused mainly on skin care, using anti-oxidant moisturisers and pore-minimising skin creams.

"We transformed the makeup room into a spa," he said. It wasn't totally slap-free, however, as they used well-applied concealer under the eyes, in the inner corners of the eyes and the beginning of the brow bone to help the models look fresh, and they also curled lashes and dusted powder across the tops of foreheads.

The hair was equally organic, with Huntington's styled straight down her back.

Georgia May Jagger also walked the show with no makeup, as well as Edie Campbell.

American model Karlie Kloss said it took longer to take her makeup off than it did to put on.

But before you put down the mascara wand, Pecheaux also said: "the rawness of a supermodel is different than the rawness of a regular woman." Ouch.

Huntington-Whitely tweeted it was an honour to close Balmain's Spring/Summer '14 show, and took a few snaps of her "less is more" look.
