Models to watch
HOLLY ROSE EMERY: The 17-year-old Aucklander popped onto our radar last year when she shared her dramatic weight loss story, and since then her modelling career has gone from strength to strength. Holly appeared on the cover of Miss Vogue in May this year before making her runway debut at the Prada Spring/Summer 2014 show in Milan. A month later she took Paris Couture Week by storm, walking the runways of Valentino, Armani Privé, and Elie Saab. Oh, and she also happened to walk in the same Chanel show as one of the most famous models on the planet, none other than Miranda Kerr. We can't wait to see what Holly does next.

MARINA NERY: With a striking face and beautiful skin, 18-year-old Marina Nery is an up-and-comer worth watching closely. Hailing from Brazil, she walked in Rio Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2012 before catching the eye of foreign scouts who predicted just how well she would do on the European circuit. So far Marina has graced the runways of Dior, Prada, and Emporio Armani, to name a few. Most recently, she fronted the Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2013 campaign (see the shot on the right) alongside major fashion faces including Lindsey Wixson, Adriana Lima, Daphne Groeneveld, and Georgia May Jagger.

MALAIKA FIRTH: Deemed 'the next Naomi Campbell,' by well, everyone, 19-year-old Malaika Firth entered the modelling world with a serious bang: being the first black model to front a Prada campaign since Naomi Campbell’s 1994 ad. Now the face of Prada has expanded her model-folio, with editorials for Interview and Love magazine, a spot in the much-coveted Victoria's Secret fashion show line-up and her first Vogue supplement cover. With the fashion bible deeming the Brit a 'modelling wonder' and a full on season that saw her walk in 56 shows during the Spring/Summer 2014 round of shows in September, the future looks ripe for the taking for Malaika.

MAGGIE JABLONSKI: It seems the name 'Jablonski' goes hand in hand with success in the modelling world. In the last four years Jacquelyn and Constance Jablonski, who are not related, have simultaneously built their status as supermodels, and now a third unrelated Jablonski has burst onto the scene. Tennessee-born Maggie, who started modelling in early 2012, finally made her runway debut alongside other 'must watch' newcomers at Prada’s Spring/Summer 2014 show in Milan before walking for Marc Jacobs, Phillip Lim and a stream of others at New York Fashion Week. Third time's the charm.

CHIHARU OKUNUGI: 20-year-old Chiharu was born in Japan and was discovered on the streets of Tokyo. Last season, she was lucky enough to catch the attention of a leading casting director who picks the model line-up for shows such as Prada, Balenciaga and Miu Miu (we're betting it was those razor-sharp cheekbones!). 53 shows, a placing amonst the top 10 newcomers for Fall/Winter 2013 catwalks by Style.com and a stunning Vogue Japan November beauty cover later and it certainly looks as though the sky's the limit for this leggy lady.

ANDREEA DIACONU: When you look like a cross between cherubic Miranda Kerr, fierce Hilary Rhonda and off-beat Daria Werbowy there's no doubt you're bound to go far in the modelling industry. 22-year-old Romanian beauty Andreea Diaconu already has a string of high-profile editorials, covers and lucrative advertising campaigns under her belt and it's no wonder when you look in those piercing blue-green eyes. Her latest booking? The stunning resort 2014 Gucci campaign.

Cara Delevingne, Miranda Kerr, Karlie Kloss: they started from the bottom, and now they're household names securing lucrative modeling contracts left, right and centre.

Once new faces, they've proved that one runway show or campaign can eventually lead to major supermodel status.

From 'the next Naomi Campbell' to a young Aucklander whose weight loss transformation changed her life, we've rounded up the six models to watch.
