She was once the magazine's food editor and is now its cover star: Nigella Lawson, 54, looks as radiant as she ever has on the front of the April issue of British Vogue

Just three months after admitting to cocaine use and going through a very-public and very-nasty divorce from Charles Saatchi, the celebrity chef has achieved what Kim Kardashian and others so desperately want, status as the cover girl of the world's most coveted magazine.

Vogue claims that Nigella is wearing "only the most minimal makeup" in the cover shot - "just some blusher and a little mascara" according to a quote in The Guardian. While that's almost certainly not true, the images do allow for her natural beauty to shine through more than her heavily-made-up face during her December court appearances.

"I was terrified of being photographed without make-up," Lawson told Vogue [no makeup now?!], "and I hate having my looks talked up. It always makes me feel I'm going to be a disappointment in the flesh."

Lawson's first Vogue food column was way back in 1995 - and in the 18 years since the star has seen professional peaks and true personal troughs, but has always maintained admirably elegant composure throughout - making her, in our opinion, the perfect Vogue cover girl. #TeamNigella
