A free-farmed, manuka honey-smoked ham from Auckland company Nosh has been named the New Zealand Ham Of The Year.

The Black Rock Butchery ham took the title ahead of 53 other entrants who put more than 70 hams forward for judging and also won the prize for best boneless sliced ham.

Head judge Graham Hawkes said the Black Rock entry was "a stand-out".
