American food stylist Caitlin Levin and Kiwi, New York-based photographer Henry Hargreaves have collaborated on a series of food-based country maps composed of signature national ingredients. The typography is by Sarit Melmed.

"Exploring new places through the food you eat is often a portal to the cultural complexities of that place," Hargreaves wrote in an email.

"In this series we have taken many of the iconic foods of countries and continents and turned them into physical maps ... that show how food has travelled the globe - transforming and becoming a part of the cultural identity of that place."

Hargreaves pointed out that the maps were "painstakingly created with real unadulterated food."

This isn't the first time talented Kiwi expat Hargreaves has grabbed the media's attention, his haunting series of replicas of the last meals of death row inmates in Texas called 'No Seconds' also garnered the world's interest.
