This is a really easy dish for people used to cooking with basic ingredients.

 

1 Onion, finely chopped
1 tin Condensed Tomato Soup
500g Penne Pasta (or similar)
300 - 500g Grated Cheese (depends how cheesy you want it)
400g Beef Mince
1 large Carrot, grated (optional)

 

1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees on bake. 

2. Bring five litres of water to the boil. Add a sprinkle of salt to the water, then empty the entire packet of pasta in to the water. Keep it boiling at the highest temperature possible. Pasta requires a fast boil to cook properly. Make a note of how long you are supposed to boil it for. Once cooked, empty into a colander and rinse with cold water. Set aside.

3. While the pasta is cooking, dice your onion and chuck it in to a large frying pan with a little butter or oil. Cook it until it is soft  but be careful not to burn it.

4. Add the beef mince to the pan and cook until it is browned. Add the grated carrot. Empty the tin of condensed tomato soup in to the frying pan, mix it up and cook for a further five minutes.

5. Add 3/4 of the grated cheese to the pan and mix around until melted.

6. Add the drained, cooked pasta into the mince mixture and stir well.

7. Empty the mince/pasta mixture in to a baking dish, sprinkle with the remaining cheese on top and put in to the oven, uncovered for 20-25 minutes.

Remove, and enjoy! The flavours are simple, but extremely tasty.
