Help get NZ cooking: Spaghetti fritters
This recipe was invented by my dad, Ted.

|Serves/makes||8 - 10|
Back in the 1950s we were rather short of cash and food, and this is what he came up with.
Don't knock it until you try it! It is now a firm family favourite for children and grandchildren.
|1 cup Self-Raising Flour|
|3/4 cup Milk|
|1 can Spaghetti (450g approx)|
|1 Onion, chopped|
|1 Carrot, grated|
|Oil for cooking|
1. Combine flour, egg and milk and mix in to a smooth batter. Leave to rest for one hour.
2. Gently mix in the vegetables and spaghetti
3. Heat oil in a pan and drop spoonfuls of mixture in
4. Cook until browned on both sides
For fussy kids, you can add chopped spinach or any other chopped or grated dreaded green vegetable.
