Shortbread is a classic, so putting feijoas in should make it even more Kiwi.

It's the time of year when feijoa trees are bearing their wonderful fruit and the price is plummeting in the supermarket, so it's best to make the most of it. 

Whether they're from your tree in the backyard or from the local store, we have collected our favourite recipes for you to try.

1. FEIJOA SHORTBREAD WITH PASSIONFRUIT CURD

It's passionfruit season, too. Combine the fruits in a classic Kiwi accompaniment to tea. The passionfruit curd is extremely versatile, so it can be used in just about anything else you might like.

"The combination works well with the richness of this pudding. The feijoas scent the whole dish," he says.
