These delicious chocolate caramel squares are guaranteed to leave you wanting more.

CHOCOLATE CARAMEL SQUARES

Base
125g butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg white
1 Tbsp golden syrup
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp cocoa
Caramel
2 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp golden syrup
1 egg yolk
2 Tbsp sugar
1 can sweetened condensed milk

1. Preheat oven to 180C.

2. For the base: Cream butter and sugar. Add egg white, then golden syrup and dry ingredients. Bake in a Swiss roll tin for 15 minutes. Cool.

3. For the caramel: Cook all ingredients for 5 minutes and spread on cooked base. Cool.

4. Ice with chocolate icing.
