It's a Kiwi bach out of reach of most families.

In Abel Tasman National Park, with 2.7 hectares of private land around it, accessible only by boat, four bedrooms, its own beach and with a $1.58 million price tag.

The private hideaway at Boundary Bay went on the market this week.

The architecturally designed bach features an outdoor solar shower, a composting toilet and is powered by solar panels.

It is one of only five privately-owned properties in the bay.

The land has been in the family for 70 years.
