It could only happen in Hollywood: hunky Aussie decorator to the stars Tasered after drunkenly scaling walls of Tom Cruise's fortress-like Beverley Hills compound.
While it could sound like an episode of an American sitcom, for former Sydney male model and latter-day celebrity decorator Jason Sullivan, it is all too real.
Sullivan, 41, is a close friend of Lara Bingle's and is well known to Australian television audiences, having appeared in Channel Nine's top rating series The Block and won the renovations reality series HomeMade three years ago.
Sullivan this morning landed in the centre of a international media storm after Los Angeles police arrested him for trespassing on Cruise's property.
According to reports from Los Angeles, Sullivan had scaled Cruise's home while intoxicated, making it into Cruise's private property only to be stopped by security guards. Cruise was not home at the time, but was later informed of the incident.
We can reveal, however, that Sullivan is a close friend of Cruise's neighbour Julia Roberts. Sullivan has been living in Roberts's home since relocating to Los Angeles earlier this year to pursue an acting career.
It appears Sullivan, in his intoxicated state, has mistaken Cruise's wall for Roberts's abode, only to be met by Cruise's crack security team on the inside, and subsequently Tasered.
Los Angeles Police arrested Sullivan and took him to hospital after being called to Cruise's home. He was treated for side-effects caused by the Taser.
''He is a really sweet guy. He would have made a silly mistake, that's all. He is not the type to stalk a celebrity,'' Bingle told PS this morning.
Sullivan had also become a regular contributor to Belle magazine. Its editor-in-chief Neale Whitaker, who has become a good friend of Sullivan's in recent years, described the decorator as a "very decent, genuine sort of guy. I can not speak highly enough of him. This whole incident has come as something of a shock".
Sullivan worked as an international male model for 20 years in London, New York, Paris and Milan, before returning to Sydney several years ago and recreating himself as a decorator.
His good looks landed him regular television appearances, including on Channel Nine's series HomeMade and The Block.
According to his bio, Sullivan describes his ''style'' as ''traditional, earthy and a little bit spiritual''.
