Hollywood star Anne Hathaway has relisted her Brooklyn apartment with a revised asking price of $US4.25 million ($NZ4.85 million), having only bought it 18 months ago.

The apartment overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline was first listed last September for $US4.5 million, but was taken off the market, due to given a lack of takers.

Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman bought the then three-bedroom apartment on level nine of the Clocktower building for $US4.1 million in early 2013, not long after the premiere of the Les Miserables film in which Hathaway played Fantine.

The Brooklyn-born Hathaway then commissioned a redesign of the 240-square-metre spread to create two large bedrooms, a study and a second living area.

The almost century-old building was converted into high-end apartments in 1998, and comes with a concierge, gym and common rooftop deck.

Hathaway will reportedly still be at home in the building, according to a New York Post report that she is living in another apartment in the same building.
