Home & Property
The second series of The Bachelor Australia hit Aussie screens last week and the setting for the "fairytale" to unfold has been revealed as the heritage-listed waterfront estate Clifton, in Hunters Hill, Sydney.
But the 1890 Victorian-era sandstone mansion hasn't come cheap, with a rumoured weekly rent of $AUS25,000 ($NZ27,300) being paid to the owners - NSW Right to Life president and gynaecologist and obstetrician Dr Simon McCaffrey, his wife Felicity and their 11 children who still live at home (wonder where they have been relocated too?).
So what if The Bachelor came to New Zealand and we had our own bevy of Kiwi beauties to house for a few months? Well we thought we'd give the production crew a helping hand and have come up with our own selection of prime property fit for this cringe-worthy but captivating reality series. Each house had to meet strict criteria;
- Driveway for grand entrance on first episode - check.
- Rose ceremony room - check.
- Sweeping staircase - check.
- Pool for lounging around (i.e. crying about not being picked for the one on one date, or any date) - check.
And for those who were wondering, or don't even given a hoot - yes, last year's couple Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich are still together but not married...yet.
