Recently divorced celebrity couple Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have put their former home on the market.

The interiors are by noted designer Kelly Wearstler.

Bold black and white with pops of neon colour feature in the public rooms.

The marble fireplace is shared by the living and dining rooms.

Kitchen cabinets are almost invisible with this striped treatment.

A retro-look satellite chandelier is positioned over the breakfast table.

Wide windows showcase the hilltop views.

The home includes six bedroom suites, plus the master suite.

The master bedroom walls are lined with marble.

One of two master bathrooms, this one (hers) features matched marble panels on all surfaces.

The master suite includes two full dressing rooms.

This colourful room overlooks the tennis court.

A fully-equipped home gym opens to the outdoors.

The outdoor entertaining spaces are as luxurious as the interior rooms.

Gavin Rossdale, a keen tennis player, had this court added after the couple purchased the home in 2006.

Highly patterned marble is used in the outdoor kitchen.

The home is listed by Stephen Shapiro of Westside Estate Agency.

After their acrimonious divorce was finalised in April, it's no surprise pop-star Gwen Stefani and Bush singer Gavin Rossdale's former marital home is on the market. The asking price is US$35,000,000 (NZ$48.8 million).

The contemporary home features a boldly graphic and colourful interior by noted decorator Kelly Wearstler. Property records indicate a total of 1100 square meters with six bedrooms (all with ensuites) and a master suite with two lavish bathrooms and two custom-fitted dressing rooms. A separate guesthouse has head-on views over a good portion of the San Fernando Valley.

The striking black and white patterned marble floor in the entryway sets the mood for the house and steps down to a formal living room with vaulted ceiling and fireplace. The kitchen has horizontal black and white striped walls, and the motif continues into the adjoining breakfast room. Other amenities include executive and house manager offices, a state-of-the-art screening room, and a professional gym lined with floor-to-ceiling windows on two walls.

Many rooms in the main house open to extensive outdoor recreation areas that incorporate an outdoor living and dining room with fireplace, infinity-edge swimming pool, flat lawn, an outdoor kitchen/grilling station, a lighted tennis court, a children's playground and (rather surprisingly) a chicken coop.

The kitchen, like the rest of the home, is decorated in black and white.

The former couple purchased the estate in a guard-gated development in August 2006 for US$13.25 million (NZ$18.4 million). The seller was hospitality entrepreneur Sam Nazarian who bought the property in October 2004 for $10,950,000 (NZ$15.3 million)  from Jennifer Lopez who had, in turn, acquired it in early 2000 for $4,297,500 (NZ$6 million).
