David Bowie's art and furniture collection up for auction
Superstar David Bowie left a great legacy when he died in January, and it wasn't all about the music.
The star had spent a lifetime collecting great art and furniture pieces, notably in the Memphis style, and his colourful collection is up for auction at Sotheby's next month.
The collection includes furniture pieces by Ettore Sottsass, Peter Shire and Michele De Lucchi, and paintings by Damien Hirst, Frank Auerbach and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
And it's the paintings that are expected to fetch the highest prices, with one Basquiat work estimated to reach up to $6 million.
The auction is to be held in London, UK, over November 10 and 11 (11 and 12, NZ time). This gallery presents a selection of the works on offer.
