LAWRENCE SMITH/Stuff.co.nz

Make your own ornate organiser for the kitchen.

You'll never forget to buy milk and bread again with this handy kitchen to do list.

Use it to organise your shopping, as a task reminder,  or even as a weekly meal planner to let the family know what's on the menu. And because you're making it yourself you can choose exactly the right colours and patterns to work with your decor.

YOU WILL NEED:

1 X photo frame
1 X test pot of paint (the colour shown is Resene Midnight Express)

FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

1. Separate the photo frame from the backing and glass, put these to one side. Lay down newspaper or a drop cloth on top of your surface, then paint the frame. Leave to dry.

2. Iron your fabric, then spread it out on a flat surface with the reverse side facing up. Place the photo frame's backing piece on the fabric and trace the edges with a pencil. Cut out your fabric piece along the lines drawn.

3. Put the fabric inside the photo frame where the photograph would usually go.
