An update on the 70s-style textile wall hangings have made a comeback lately, here's one that's easy to make at home. 

EQUIPMENT

* 3 - 4 balls of thick wool (or as many colours you want to include)
* 1 wooden rod/moulding 
* Scissors 
* Ruler

METHOD

Cut thick wool into lengths. You will need to cut the wool twice as long as you want it to hang (but don't worry too much about the length yet, you'll trim it up later.)

Tie each strip around the wooden rod.

Switch colours as you move along to add variety and interest. 

Once the rod has enough wool on it, trim the length with scissors. We used a ruler to cut the wool on a sharp diagonal. 

Attach a length of wool to either end of the rod to hang.
