Former Neighbours star Caitlin Stasey has slammed The Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail and Nine MSN for making her out to be a "bizarre, raving, sexual lunatic".

She has also accused them of "shaming" women who openly discuss their sexuality.

"Would like to thank @dailytelegraph @DailyMailUK and @TheFIXninemsn for adding to the shaming of women who openly discuss their sexuality," Stasey responded on Twitter.

Eleven weeks ago, Stasey posted a topless picture on Instagram as part of Scout Willis' "Free the Nipple" campaign.

In June the actress posted on Twitter, "Tired of living in world where my favourite features are also my best kept secrets #FreeTheNipple."

On the back of that she then tweeted openly about sexual acts.

Two days ago, Nine MSN wrote a story titled, "Aussie star Caitlin Stasey shocks with bizarre and sexually explicit Twitter rants".

The news site labelled the tweets as "bizarre rants covering everything from oral sex to rape."

Jumping on the bandwagon, The Daily Mail also reported the actress' tweets as "bizarre".

"Stasey returned to Twitter less than 24 hours after her initial rant to take aim at celebrity photographer Terry Richardson who has been repeatedly accused of indecently assaulting models on the sets of his photo shoots," reported the Daily Mail.

After painting his girlfriend as crazy, Stasey's boyfriend, Lucas Neff has responded on Twitter saying, "Thx dudes for letting me know my gf is bizarre raving sexual lunatic. Hooray 4 me".

The Tomorrow When the War Began actress has now hit back saying from now on she will "only be sexy and funny."

Further responding on Twitter, she added: "Tabloid journalism - denying women agency since the 'bitches' learnt to ask for it."

Like many successful celebrities, Stasey career began on Neighours where she played Rachael Kinski for three years.

Since leaving the soap, she has moved to Los Angeles, where she now appears in a period drama, Reign, where she plays a mistress of King Henry II.
