Anonymous note chastises Lupus sufferer for using disabled park
If you're going to tell someone off for using a disabled carpark, it might pay to be completely sure that they are able-bodied.
An anonymous note left on a parked car in Ohio chastised the driver for parking in a disabled space.
"You should be ashamed!! When you take a handicap spot an actual disabled person suffers. You were not raised as you should have been."
The driver has in fact suffered from Lupus since she was 16 years old. While Lupus isn't immediately obvious to outside observers, it can make tasks like walking immeasurably painful. The mother of the driver, Corinna Skorpenske, took to Facebook to respond.
"Wishing so much for you to have stopped and talked to this amazing person before leaving this. If you had, you would have known that my daughter has a disease."
She detailed some of the pain her daughter has gone through.
"Basically, her immune system thinks her body inside and out is something bad and attacks it."
Skorpenske made clear that not all diseases are immediately obvious.
"Many people suffer with these "GHOST" diseases, which you can't see but are just as bad as a physical disability. People die of depression, but we can't see that.
The anonymous note-leaver has not come forward.
