Predicting what Prince William and Catherine's offspring will look like is a very fun game. Everyone has had a go a giving an artist's representation of what the tiny new royal will look like.

But now something new has come into the game. Science.

A geneticist from Johannesburg, Suretha Erasamus, has released illustrations of what the baby may look like (above).

According to Getty, Erasamus has made the evaluation that the baby could share many characteristics with the facial features of Princess Diana based on Prince Williams strong resemblance to his mother, and with the baby carrying half of its parent genes and a quarter of its grandparent genes.

Really? This isn't exactly a ground-breaking equation, is it? Pretty sure I learnt that genetic breakdown in Year 8 biology.

However, with dark genes being stronger than light genes she has estimated that there is a good chance that the baby may inherit Catherine's dark hair.

Now we're getting somewhere.

The illustrations offer a representation based on the genetic influences passed on by both parents, accounting for likely variations of hair and skin colour.

So let's break it down. The male baby at the top right is just William as a baby. Try harder.

The baby at the top left? If it's born looking like that, we want a paternity test. Because with that reddish tinge, we would be wondering where Prince Harry was at the time of conception.

And the teenage ones? They're just William and Kate wearing an array of bad wigs.
