People wanting to cheat on their marriage are most likely to look hardest for someone to have an affair with on Mondays, a dating website says.

That effort came after users of Victoria Milan, a site for married and attached people, felt the strongest need to spice up their lives on Saturdays and Fridays.

The site described itself as " one of the world's leading discreet social networks for men and women seeking a secret affair".

A survey of 3500 men and women who used the site found 21 per cent of respondents most felt the need for more excitement on Saturdays, with 20 per cent feeling the need on Fridays.

Despite that, Monday was the busiest day on the site - 14 per cent more active than Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and 25 per cent more active than Fridays and Saturdays.

For 36 per cent of respondents, the strong activity on Mondays was thought to be the result of a boring weekend spent with a partner, while 29 per cent thought the reason was the desire to start the week with a strong dose of adrenaline.
